Venture to the countryside and experience Scenery Hill’s 2nd annual Outdoor Film Series! The series is FREE and takes place the 2nd Saturday of every month from June-Aug, 2018. All films, times, pre-film events and event details listed below.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS
Sat. June 9th, 7:30pm

The Secret Life of Pets is a unique comedy about the lives that our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Two mismatched mutts get lost in NYC due to their feuding and must find their way home. During their journey, they encounter a vicious bunny who plans to lead a group of abandoned pets on a mission of revenge against humanity. The film is rated PG.

PRE-FILM: PET FASHION SHOW COMPETITION: 8:30 PM
– ***Please RSVP & email*** sceneryhillpa@gmail.com with your name, pet’s name and type of pet.
– We will allow onsite registration as well, $5 entry.

Think avant-garde fashion… new and unusual or experimental fashion ideas, basically anything goes! You can enter up to one animal per pet owner, a set of the same type of animal is allowed, as long as they are well trained around other animals and people, and aren’t poisonous. There will be prizes for the top three winners! Please bring a cage to place pets in while they are not on the runway if they are not calm, or are not trained.

Please show up at the event at 7:30pm for sign-in and runway instructions, the fashion show will begin around 8:30pm, then the film will be screened once it gets dark. The pet owners’ will walk or carry their pet down the runway, then the pet will be placed on our fancy lazy-susan so viewers can see the pet in all of its 360º of glory! If the animal is large, you will walk around the lazy-susan.

E.T.  The Extra-Terrestrial
Sat. July 14th, 8:00pm

After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien. The film is rated PG.

PRE-FILM CHILDREN ALIEN COSTUME CONTEST: 8:30 PM
Please arrive at 8:00pm to register at the entry table, the contest will begin around 8:30 PM, and there will be prizes! $5 per entry. Adults are also encouraged to dress up and participate in the event!

PRE-FILM ALIEN ART TABLE: 8:00 PM
Create your own Alien inspired artwork! There will be art tables set up prior to the screening of the film for adults and kids. All art materials will be provided.

STAR WARS: The Last Jedi
Sat. Aug 11th, 7pm

Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy. The film is rated PG-13.

PRE-FILM STAR WARS ART TABLE: 7:00 PM
Create your own Star Wars inspired artwork! There will be art tables set up prior to the screening of the film for adults and kids. All art materials will be provided.

WHAT TO BRING & WHAT NOT TO BRING
Bring your blankets, pillows, and lawn chairs, and make sure to bring bug spray, and a tarp for underneath your blanket if the ground is wet. Popcorn, drinks, and additional concessions will be available for purchase. All funds will go towards The Scenery Hill Civic Committee (Please do not bring food or drinks to the event, *alcohol is prohibited*) If there is inclement weather, the films will be rescheduled for the following Saturday, please check here and/or on our Facebook page for weather and screening updates.

LOCATION + PARKING + HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY
The screenings will take place at the North Bethlehem Community Center’s back lawn. Located at the end of School Street in Scenery Hill. Directional signage will be present along the National Road/Rt. 40.
